A great vintage 1991 21 year old Lagavulin Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky and the second 21 year old single malt whisky from Laguvulin released in the year 2012. This rare 21 year old limited edition from Islay legend Lagavulin was distilled in 1991, matured in European 1st-fill ex-sherry oak casks and bottled in 2012 without added colouring or chill filtration at cask strength at 52.0% vol. in a limited edition of 2.772 individually numbered bottles.
Ingenious and complex, this sophisticated malt delivers the expected Lagavulin intensity with elegance and style. With its deep amber colour, this Islay shows its complexity and maturity, combined with a rich nose of sultanas, fruit and inviting smoke. Soft red fruits appear, then sweet flavours with buttery caramel. Full-bodied, smooth and pleasant to drink, with notes of molasses, toffee syrup and baked apple. The finish is complex and deep, with charred oak and fresh wood smoke, then sweet baked apples. Released as part of the Diageo Super Premium Malts series and a special Lagavulin that has won several awards for its excellent quality and exclusivity.
