A rare and exceptional 10 year old Bruichladdich Octomore Edition X4 + 10 / Concept 0.2 Super Heavily Peated Islay Single Malt Scotch whisky and the second release from the limited Octomore Concept series from the year 2019. The Octomore Edition X4 + 10 / Concept 0.2 Islay Single Malt is the second release of the quadruple distilled Octomore from the Bruichladdich distillery and head distiller Adam Hannett. Made from 100% Scottish barley, this huge Octomore Islay single malt Scotch whisky matured for over 10 years in a combination of bourbon, sweet wine and sherry casks and was bottled in September 2019 without the addition of colourants and chill-filtration in an edition of 3000 individually numbered bottles at cask strength 70.0% vol. and 162 PPM.
The exceptionally heavily peated Octomore Islay Single Malt Scotch whisky is distilled by Bruichladdich in memory of the old Octomore distillery, which was located above Port Charlotte, and was one of the whiskies with the highest phenol content in its day.
The Bruichladdich Octomore Edition X4 + 10 / Concept 0.2 Super Heavily Peated Islay Single Malt Scotch whisky is complex and heavy, the nose is sweet with subtle smoke, vanilla, toffee, marzipan, the flavour is powerful with fine honey sweetness, vanilla, earth and citrus with an intense, long-lasting and warm finish - an amazing Octomore that can inspire and with an impressive 70.0% vol. the strongest whisky in the history of the Bruichladdich distillery to date!
