A rare vintage 1992 21 year-old Bruichladdich Islay single malt scotch whisky from a Bourbon cask and enhanced in premium French oak cask with cask no. R08/299-2 from the Laddie Crew Valinch series as no. 02 for Laddie Ambassador Joanne Brown. The exceptional Bruichladdich Islay single malt scotch whisky, which was only available at the distillery visitor centre, was bottled by hand without the addition of dyes and chill filtration at cask strength 52.2% abv in the year 2014 in a limited edition of only 400 hand-numbered bottles. In addition, a small quantity of this exceptional Bruichladdich Islay Single Malt with a special label was bottled for the Monte Carlo Whisky Society to commemorate the visit of Prince Albert of Monaco.
A valinch, possibly from a Spanish term, is the name applied to a large, copper pipette used to take cask samples from whisky barrels. The view is if you have made the effort to get to Islay then you deserve something just a little extra special. Valinchs are by definition only ever at cask strength, from a single barrel, and selected by Jim McEwan for individuality. Each Valinch released has it s own label and title, usually to commemorate a specific event or person.
