Rare and selected Crown Royal Blended Whisky
The Canadian Crown Royal is one of the best selling whiskey in the United States and belongs since 2000 to Diageo Group. The Crown Royal is now produced exclusively in the Crown Royal distillery Gimli, lying on the shores of Lake Winnipeg Canadian province of Manitoba, and is about an hour away from Winnipeg. The first blended contained over 50 whiskeys, many of which have also been employed for the 75-years later bottled Crown Royal Northern Harvest Rye Whisky. The proportion of rye in the mash is here 90% and the Crown Royal Northern Harvest Rye 90% Blended Whisky impresses with its balance. It has a smooth taste, with notes of fruit, cloves and has a slightly sharpness in the aftertaste. Jim Murray crowns the Canadian Crown Royal Northern Harvest Rye 90% Rye Fine Blended Canadian Whisky with 97.5 out of 100 points for whisky of the year 2016. In the thirteen-year history of the Whisky Bible Jim Murray is the first time that a Canadian Whisky as World Whisky of the Year receives this special award and stands on the podium at the top.
