A rare vintage 1975 40 years-old Glenglassaugh Highland single malt scotch whisky, distilled on 18th June 1975 and bottled after 40 years of maturation in cask no. 2180 with a finish in a Massandra Madeira Punchoen in the rare cask release single cask limited edition range as batch 2 in September 2015.
The Massandra winery is considered the pearl of the Crimean peninsula and is still known for its excellent wines and Madeira. The winery was built in 1894 to supply wine and sparkling wine to the then Russian Tsar Nicholas II and his court.
This exceptional Glenglassaugh Highland single malt scotch whisky was specially hand-selected by Master Distiller Billy Walker for the Rare Cask Release limited single cask bottling range and bottled in a limited edition of only 588 individually hand-numbered bottles without added dyes and chill filtration at cask strength 43.9% abv.
