The Ardbeg Perpetuum 200 years of Ardbeg Limited Edition Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky is the 2015 Ardbeg day limited edition bottling, the highest holiday of all Ardbeg fans, inspired by Ardbeg s 200th anniversary of the Ardbeg distillery. Its name alludes to the eventful past, the present and a promising future. The word perpetuum comes from Latin and means forever. The Ardbeg Perpetuum Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky contains some very old and young Ardbeg distillates, shows silky notes from bourbon casks, spicy parts from sherry casks and surprises pointing to the future. The result is an interplay of classic flavours reminiscent of dark chocolate and molasses with hints of sea spray, peat smoke, vanilla and a hint of sherry casks. The result is a memorable Ardbeg Islay single malt with an endless finish that is pleasing because it is exciting and multi-layered at every stage, not at all flat and beautifully drinkable.
With a great deal of expertise, something has been composed here that is more than the sum of the casks used and impressively shows that Ardbeg has succeeded in creating a very special anniversary whisky with Perpetuum, which was not simply mixed together and proves that the famous Islay distillery understands its craft very well - the result is a thank you to the past 200 years and a reference for the future.
