This vintage 2001 14-year-old Bowmore Islay single malt Scotch whisky comes from a refill sherry butt personally selected by Kirsch Whisky at Signatory Vintage with the cask no. 1373 and was bottled exclusively in an edition of 641 bottles without the addition of colourants under the now well-known Single Cask Seasons Edition for the winter of 2015 at cask strength with 55.4% vol.
After distillation, the distillate spent 14 years slowly maturing in a refill sherry butt before finally being bottled. This is a fine Bowmore Islay single malt Scotch whisky in its natural form, from the barley, its maturation and into the bottle. The result is a Bowmore single malt with pale gold in colour, the aromas are full - candied fruit, toffee and marzipan, tied together in the distinctive Bowmore smokiness. The palate is surprisingly delicate with hints of vanilla, berry fruit and light peat. The finish is light, elegant and smooth.
