The rare second release of the vintage 1989 21 year old Bruichladdich Black Art 02.2 limited edition Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky, bottled in 2010 in a limited edition of 6.000 bottles without added colouring and chill-filltration at cask strength 49.1% vol. The Black Art 02.2 Islay Single Malt was matured for 21 years in selected American and European oak wine casks in the old warehouse and the result is a concentrated, intense and complex single malt that convinces with wonderful flavours.
Since the reopening of Bruichladdich by independent bottler Murray McDavid in 2000 - and especially under the leadership of Jim McEwan, the distillery and its whisky have shone like never before. Jim McEwan - born on Islay and former master distiller at Bowmore - made a return to the original and natural in the production of Scotch whisky.
The Bruichladdich Black Art limited edition release whiskies represent the black magic and special art of master distiller Jim McEwan - the Black Art 02.2 Islay Single Malt is one of the wonderful bottlings created by Jim McEwan from this legendary series and was awarded the Liquid Gold Award in Jim Murray s Whisky Bible in 2014.
