The exclusive 50-year-old Glenfarclas Highland Single Malt Scotch whisky is the third bottling in Glenfarclas' limited Six Generations series and was produced in an edition of just 937 bottles - only 60 bottles were available for the German market. At 50 years old, the third edition of the Glenfarclas Six Generations Limited Edition is three years older than the first edition and is dedicated to the second head of the company, George Grant (1830-1890). In honour of each generation - since John Grant (1805-1889) acquired the distillery in 1865 - 3 more editions are to follow. For Edition No. 3, special ex-Oloroso sherry casks were selected at Glenfarclas, which were to be chosen and bottled 50 years later for this special whisky.
This special Glenfarlas Highland Single Malt from the Family Collector selection was bottled on 14 April 2015 without the addition of colourants and chill-filtration at 41.1% vol. and resulted in this very special and exceptional Glenfarclas Highland Single Malt Scotch whisky. The bottle comes in an elegant leather box with an illustration of George Grant (1830-1890) on the front.

- Nose: it reveals wonderful fresh sweet sherry with an unexpected youthful aroma from such a whisky of its age
- Palate: with time in the glass, hints of crème caramel and butterscotch develop. Its flavour reveals an assertive spiciness but never overpowering followed by treacle toffee, chocolate ice-cream and sherry soaked raisins
- Finish: a wonderful balance of sherry, spiced fruits and cinnamon and an everlasting sweetness which you would expect from 50 years in the finest sherry casks
