A rare vintage 1971 21 year old Glenmorangie Highland Single Malt Whisky, bottled without added colouring and chill filtration at 43.0% vol. in a limited edition in 1993 to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the official opening of the Glenmorangie distillery in the year 1843. An elegant as well as complex Glenmorangie Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky with the typical Glenmorangie spiciness and thanks to the old style a little more peat than today coming from the ground malts. The fine Glenmorangie Single Malt was matured in carefully selected American bourbon oak casks and allowed to mature for over 21 years in the low, stony and earthy Glenmorangie Warehouses infused with fresh sea air currents from the Dornoch Firth.
A wonderful old and original Glenmorangie Highland Single Malt Scotch that impressively shows the character of the old bottlings from the early 1970s and rare Highligth for connoisseurs, the discerning whisky collector and lovers of fine old Scotch whiskies.
- Nose: vanilla, honey, subtle oak, very complex, yellow fruit - apricots and plums, balmy smoke and a hint of mint, almonds and caramel pudding
