A very rare vintage 1993 15 year old Lagavulin Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky from the special and limited Managers Choice Single Cask Selection. For the Managers Choice Single Cask Series, a commission of experts selected a cask from a wide range of distilleries to be included in this exclusive Diageo s Super Premium Malts range of selected single malt whiskies. This limited edition single cask bottling from Islay legend Lagavulin was distilled on 25th October 1993, matured for over 15 years in a European Bodega Sherry oak cask with the cask no. 4477 and was bottled on 19th February 2009 without added colouring or chill filtration at cask strength 54.7% abv in an edition of only 612 individually numbered bottles. The exceptional Lagavulin Islay Single Malt is presented in a fine gift box created exclusively for the Managers Choice limited single cask edition range.
Ingenious and complex, this well-aged Islay single malt delivers the expected Lagavulin intensity with elegance and style. With its yellow-golden colour, this Islay single malt shows its complexity and maturity, combined with a rich nose of lemon, icing, vanilla, custard and inviting smoke. Full-bodied and oily on the palate with notes of honey, hay, walnuts, linseed oil with peat and burning charcoal. The finish is complex and deep with lemon, peat with little to no smoke and oil from toasted linseed, pepper and some wood. A special Lagavulin Islay single malt scotch whisky, which has its price due to its rarity and extraordinary quality and is now hard to find.
