A old and very rare vintage 1970 18 years-old Macallan Glenlivet LTD. Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky with a decorative artist label from The Sea-Series, which matured for 18 years in sherry butt with cask no. 11306 and was bottled in the year 1988 without the addition of dyes and chill filtration at cask strength 46.0% vol. of Moon Import in a limited edition of only 780 individually numbered bottles.
Pepi Mongiardino bottled his first whisky after the death of the great Silvano Samaroli in the early 1980s, at the time under the title Half Moon. The first bottles of Moon Import still had simply designed labels, later Pepi designed the labels with pictures from historical books. The famous series with the birds, animals, costumes and the sea got their labels from pictures he discovered in an 18th century German encyclopaedia. These iconic designs, combined with the quality of the bottled whisky, have made Moon Import's popularity grow steadily.
