A rare vintage 1990 25 year old Rosebank Lowland Single Malt Scotch Whisky distilled in 1990 and bottled after 25 years maturation in cask no. R0/15/11 by Gordon and MacPhail on 16th November 2015 in the Rare Old Single Cask Limited Edition in an edition of 602 bottles with no added colouring or chill filtration at 46.0% vol.
The world-renowned independent bottler Gordon and MacPhail bottled their single malts for many renowned distilleries decades ago and with the Rare Old series, very old and rare single malts from distilleries that have long since closed are bottled in small editions. As the original bottler, he set aside the best casks for later times. This unique and limited bottle of 25 years Rosebank Lowland Single Malt Scotch Whisky from the Rare Old Single Cask Edition at 46.0 vol. and the year 1990 is considered one of the few bottlings from the distillery that closed in 1983. Michael Jackson described the whisky as the finest example of a Lowland malt and the closure of the distillery as a great loss. Jim Murray claims Rosebank is the superior Lowlander and should be voted in the top five of all Scottish malts.
