A magnificent vintage 1957 53 year old Strathisla Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky, distilled on 1st November 1957 and bottled after 53 years maturation in a 1st fill sherry butt with cask no. 1722 by Gordon and MacPhail as a licensed bottling in the Distillery Label Limited Single Cask range on 15th July 2011 with no added colouring or chill filtration in limited release at 43.0% vol.
Distilled at the oldest Highland Malt distillery in Scotland on 1st November 1957, this unique Speyside single malt was matured for many years at the Strathisla distillery after being personally selected by John Urquhart, until it was transferred to Gordon and MacPhail's warehouses in Elgin in the year 1985 and bottled in a small edition on 15th July 2011. The independent bottler Gordon and MacPhail bottled the single malts for many distilleries decades ago and has a large stock of old top whiskies as well as many great rarities. Each distillery was given an individual label, which was often considered the original bottling because no other bottlings existed and Gordon and MacPhail bottled this Strathisla under licence, hence the old original label on the bottle.
