Mr Bourbon Heinz Taubenheim
Heinz Taubenheim is the owner of the largest American whiskey collection in the world. Blend, malt, single malt, bourbon and rye were very familiar terms for him. In 1971, he began his passion for collecting - whiskey - more by chance than anything else. Heinz Taubenheim probably owns the most extensive and unique collection in the world, which is why he is also known as Mr Bourbon in the USA. On 9 June 2006, the 1,500th bottle was delivered by helicopter. It was a Woodford Reserve Four Grain from the spirits manufacturer Brown Forman. Only 3,000 bottles of this whiskey were bottled in Kentucky in 1999. The last existing bottle of the first label from the Jack Daniels whiskey company can also be found in the Whiskey Museum. Heinz Taubenheim passed away on 8th February 2016 at the age of 68.
