This is the very first release of Wolfburn Single Malt Whisky from the northernmost distillery on mainland Scotland. It was limited to only 875 bottles Worldwide. Records show the original Wolfburn Distillery ran from 1821 to the mid 1850's, after which it disappeared and was largely forgotten. Now revived and reawakened, this is the first whisky to carry the Wolfburn name for over 150 years. With just 875 individually-numbered bottles available, the Inaugural Release contains spirit specifically designed to be a truly exceptional first dram. For this limited edition, Wolfburn distillery manager Shane Fraser used a longer fermentation time of 90 hours for more floral notes, and an even slower distillation of five hours, instead of four to increase copper contact and remove any trace of sulphur. On the nose you will find fruit and malty aromas, with just a hint of peat. Floral overtones are present. On the tongue, sweet and nutty flavours come to the fore, which coat the palate before leaving a very slight, very pleasant flavour of smoke.
