The Yamazaki Bourbon Barrel Special Release 2011 Japanese Single Malt Whisky matured in selected 180-litre barrels in which old bourbon whisky was previously matured and this special release was bottled exclusively for the UK market with a slightly higher alcohol content at 48.2% vol. in an edition of just 1000 bottles.
The Suntory Yamazaki Bourbon Barrel Japanese Single Malt Whisky is made from only the finest and most original ingredients and the 2013 vintage was awarded the gold medal at the International Spirits Challenge 2014. Ingredients that are transformed into a wonderfully harmonious single malt during the skilful distillation process. Its soft water comes from the springs of the River Hakushu and the wood in which it matures comes from ex-bourbon barrels, which give it wonderful and unique notes of tropical fruit, vanilla and apple pie.
This special Yamazaki Japanese single malt whisky is now sold out worldwide and is a rare expression from the coveted cask edition series by Suntory Yamazaki for connoisseurs, discerning whisky collectors and lovers of exceptional Japanese whiskies and is hard to find today.
- Nose: aromatic nose with lemon zest, heather honey and hazelnut. Hints of cinnamon, rose petal jelly and custard
