A very rare and stunning vintage 1975 27 year-old Ardbeg Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky, distilled in March 1975 and after over 27 years of maturation in a sherry (?) cask bottled in October 2002 without the addition of dyes and chill filtration in a limited edition of only 198 bottles at 50.0% vol. by Douglas Laing in the Old Malt Cask single cask bottling series.
The distillery Ardbeg is considered worldwide as one of the cult distilleries of Islay and shows a perfect example of the typical heavily peated single malt from the island. For dedicated Ardbeg lovers and whiskey collectors, however, the bottlings from the 1970s are the epitome of the golden era of Ardbeg , many of the old bottlings from this decade show the original Ardbeg character in a particularly impressive way and are now considered legendary.
