The rare 25-year-old Ardbeg Lord of the Isles Islay Single Malt Scotch whisky was bottled in a very small edition between 2001 and 2007 after 25 years of maturation in selected sherry and bourbon casks at a strength of 46% vol. and contains non-chill-filtered malts from the years 1976 to 1978. The fine old Ardbeg Islay single malt is therefore a highly valued rarity among connoisseurs, enthusiasts and collectors, which is unrivalled in the world of smoky whiskies and wonderfully demonstrates the original character of the Islay legend Arbeg.
In terms of power, complexity, depth and harmony, it surpasses almost all other known Scotch whiskies from Ardbeg with lots of smoke and sea flavours with an amazingly malty sweetness. This special rarity is named Lord of the Isles in honour of the independent noblemen of Gaelic-Norwegian origin who ruled the Hebridean islands and the Kintyre peninsula between 1336 and 1493.
