Balvenie 1989 17 Years New Wood Finish Limited Release Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky 40.0% Vol. - rare old bottling of a special Balvenie Single Malt
A rare vintage 1989 17 year old Balvenie New Wood Finish Highland Single Scotch whisky which was bottled after more than 17 years of maturation as a limited release in the year 2006 at 40.0% vol. For the special Balvenie New Wood Single Malt Scotch whisky, Malt Master David Stewart used selected old American oak bourbon casks from the distillery's stocks, which were then finished for 4 months in freshly toasted American white oak casks. The result is a well-matured, rich and complex Balvenie Highland Single Malt Scotch whisky with soft oaky vanilla tones, spiciness and the characteristic Balvenie honey sweetness.
Only 79 casks of the exceptional Balvenie Highland Single Malt Scotch were bottled and this fine old Scotch whisky is rarely found today.
