This rare vintage 2002 12 year old Bowmore Islay Single Malt Scotch whisky was distilled on 7th October 2002, matured for 12 years in a selected 1st first fill oloroso sherry butt with the cask no. 2214 and was bottled by hand on 23th May 2015 for the Feis Ille Festival 2015 exclusively for visitors to the distillery on site in a limited edition of 600 bottles without the addition of colourants and chill filtration at cask strength 59.6% vol. and was not officially available in stores.
Like the island of Islay, the dark mahogany-coloured Bowmore Islay Single Malt Scotch whisky displays a unique quality and particularly fine spicy complexity with nuts and rich fruits such as sultanas, dates, oranges, chocolate and honey marzipan.
Despite its young age, it is an extremely successful Bowmore Islay single malt Scotch whisky, reminiscent of old times and one of Bowmore's outstanding Feis Ile and hand-filled bottlings.
Due to the small edition of only 600 bottles and as one of the few Bowmore single cask bottlings, this fine Islay single malt has already become a rarity and a sought-after bottling for connoisseurs, whisky collectors and lovers of fine old Scotch whiskies.
