This rare vintage 2006 over 10 years-old hand-filled Limited Edition Bowmore Islay single malt scotch whisky was exclusively bottled at natural cask strength 61.3% vol. from a first fill Bordeaux barrique cask with cask no. 848 in a limited edition on 7-9th September 2016 at the distillery, was officially not officially available in stores and is currently Bowmore s bottling with the highest alcohol content.
Each part of the whisky was handmade and distilled on 20. February 2006: the barley was malted and traditionally dried in the kiln of the distillery. After distillation, the whisky matured slowly in a 1st Fill Bordeaux Barrique cask for more than 10 years before being bottled by hand from the cask for a small number of visitors of the distillery. Even with his young age, this is a delicate and successful Wine-Cask Bowmore Islay single malt whisky with a beautiful copper colour and a large body that reminds of old times.
Because of its low circulation and as one of the very rare Bordeaux single cask bottlings from Bowmore, this special Islay single malt scotch whisky is hard to find today and is already one of Bowmore s sought-after bottlings among connoisseurs, lovers and whisky-collectors of exceptional and fine old scotch whiskies.
