Founded over 65 years ago by Fred Douglas Laing, Douglas Laing and Co. is one of the leading independent Scotch whisky blenders and bottlers, specialising in the finest single cask bottlings. Family-owned since 1948, the company is still run by the Laing family today. In keeping with the company's philosophy of no colouring - no chillltration - no nonsense, the whiskies are bottled at a high cask strength and not chill-filtered in order to preserve the robust and unique character of the whisky. The casks were purchased from Scotland's renowned whisky distilleries. Thus, the bottlings include famous active distilleries such as Ardbeg, Macallan, Highland Park and Bowmore, as well as already closed ones such as Port Ellen from the island of Islay. Through their experience and reputation as an old-established blending company, they can fall back on excellent relationships that go back a long way. These also make it possible to acquire one or the other special cask from distilleries that would otherwise not be available for sale.
This exquisite Brora Highland Single Malt Scotch is considered by connoisseurs to be absolutely first-class, is one of the hardly available excellent old single cask bottlings of the closed distillery Brora from the early 1970s and is a special highlight for for connoisseurs, the discerning whisky collector and lovers of fine old Scotch whiskies.
