An old and very rare vintage 1968 15 years old Bruichladdich Sherry Wood Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky from the early Moon Collection, which was matured for 15 years in sherry wood casks and bottled without added colouring or chill filtration in the year 1983 at 43.0% vol. by Bruichladdich for the legendary Italian importer Moon Import and Pepi Mongiardino in an edition of 1200 bottles.
The 15 years old Bruichladdich Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky is bottled in a total edition of 2.400 bottles according to the bottle label, this information was supplemented on the back with the distillation year 1968, the bottling year 1983 and the bottle number 1200. In any case, this is one of the very early and rare original bottlings of a vintage 1968 sherry wood matured Bruichladdich Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky from the 1980s.
Pepi Mongiardino bottled his first whisky after the death of the great Silvano Samaroli in the early 1980s, at the time under the title Half Moon. The first bottles of Moon Import still had simply designed labels, later Pepi designed the labels with pictures from historical books. The famous series with the birds, animals, costumes and the sea got their labels from pictures he discovered in an 18th century German encyclopaedia.
