The rare 5th release of the vintage 1992 24 year old Bruichladdich Black Art 05.1 limited edition release Islay single malt scotch whisky, bottled in the year 2016 in a limited edition of 12,000 individually numbered bottles without the addition of colourings and chill filtration at cask strength 48.4% vol. The Black Art 05.1 Islay single malt was matured for 24 years in selected American oak and premium French red wine casks in warehouse 12 and the result is a fine, elegant, incredibly complex single malt that seduces the eye, the nose and the palate in a most provocative way with its antique copper colour and indescribable aromas.
Since the reopening of Bruichladdich by independent bottler Murray McDavid in 2000 - and especially under the leadership of Jim McEwan, the distillery and its whisky have shone like never before. Jim McEwan - born on Islay and former master distiller at Bowmore - made a return to the original and natural in the production of Scotch whisky.
The Bruichladdich Black Art limited edition release whiskies represent the black magic and special art of this series - the Black Art 05.1 Islay single malt is the first bottling under the direction of head distiller Adam Hannett from this famous and legendary series.
