This very rare and exceptional vintage 1992 14 year old Buffalo Trace Single Barrel Bourbon Whiskey was distilled on 13th May 1992, matured for 6 years and 3 months until 19th August 1998 in a selected American white oak barrel and was allowed to mature for over 6 more years in a French Oak Cabernet Franc cask until its bottling without the addition of colouring on 22th February 2007 at 45.0% vol. / 90 proof. It was stored in warehouse I on floor 1 and this over 14-year-old Buffalo Trace Experimental Collection Single Barrel Whiskey impressively demonstrates the combination of oak notes and the flavour from the fruity French Chardonnay wine cask.
Only 1 barrel of this special mahogany-coloured bourbon whiskey was bottled as the 2nd release of the Buffalo Trace Experimental Collection in the year 2007. This Buffalo Trace Single Barrel Bourbon Whiskey is now one of the especially rare rarities from the Buffalo Trace Experimental Collection, is absolutely unique with its exceptional double maturation and is almost impossible to find.
For more than two decades, Buffalo Trace has been experimenting with recipes and different processes to explore the effects of whiskey maturation and taste. Currently, there are more than 4,000 experimental barrel whiskeys of different ages in the warehouses of Buffalo Trace. Each of the barrels has unique characteristics and experimental changes in the mash calculation, wood species, barrel toasts and more. The experimental whiskey is periodically bottled and is available in limited quantities as a small limited edition, and the label contains all the facts about this unique whiskey. Due to the small available quantity, they are filled in bottles with 375ML content. These special Bourbon whiskeys from Buffalo Trace of the Experimental Collection are only delivered to a few selected dealers in the USA, are almost unavailable in Europe and are one of the absolute rarities among bourbon lovers and connoisseurs even at the special auctions of Bonhams, Krüger or Christies.
