A rare vintage 1975 20 year old Caol Ila Islay single malt scotch whisky at natural cask strength 61.12% abv / 122.2 proof from Diageo s famous Rare Malts Selection, bottled in the year 1996 in a limited edition of individually numbered 75cl bottles exclusively by Bulloch Lade and Co. for the US market and importer Schieffelin and Sommerset Co., New York. This exceptional and rare 1970s Islay single malt from the Caol Ila distillery impresses with its extraordinary quality and only very few of these special bottlings for the US market have found their way back to Europe.
The Diageo Rare Malts Selection, which has now been discontinued, has been awarded with very special single malts from selected distilleries such as Auchroisk, Bannf, Blair Athol, Brora, Caol Ila, Clynelish, Convalmore, Glendullan, Glen Mhor, Millburn, Port Ellen, Royal Lochnagar, Rosebank, St. Magdalene and Inchgower presented in a limited edition at Cask Strength and nowadays they are regarded almost as a cult among connoisseurs.
