A rare vintage 1996 23 year old 100% Trinidad rum from the closed distillery Caroni by the Italian bottler and rum specialist Velier for La Maison Du Whisky. This Caroni Full Proof Heavy Trinidad Rum matured for 23 years on the island of Trinidad and contains rum from 4 barrels personally selected by Luca Gagarno and 26 other Caroni rum lovers after 8 tastings on 12th April 2019 and was dedicated in the Caroni Employees Special Edition 2nd Release to former employee David Charran, known as "Sarge", who worked at the Caroni distillery for 28 years.
With an Angel's Share of an impressive 88%, this is an incredibly dense, dry, deep Caroni Trinidad rum and the excellent local climate and good storage conditions ensure the extremely high quality of this exceptionally golden-brown mahogany-coloured rum, which was bottled at cask strength 66.5% vol. in a limited edition of just 953 bottles in the year 2019 without added sugar or colouring.
