A very special vintage 1995 16 year old limited edition Dalmore Charity Highland single malt Scotch whisky with a special first cru classe Bordeaux cask finish and the 2nd release from the Mackenzie limited edition series. This exquisite Dalmore Highland single malt Scotch whisky was matured for over 14 years in American oak and Spanish sherry casks, then finished for a further 18 months in selected first cru Bordeaux wine casks and bottled at 46.0% vol. The Dalmore Castle Leod was created by master distiller Richard Paterson as a tribute to Clan Mackenzie and the stag and his selection of casks used has once again created an exceptional Dalmore single malt.
The Dalmore Castle Leod Highland Single Malt Scotch whisky was bottled in the year 2011 in a limited edition of 5000 bottles to support the preservation and further renovation of the ancestral home of the Mackenzie clan in the east of Ross-shire in the Scottish Highlands.
The packaging of the bottle shows a picture of Castle Leod by the painter Keith Hornblower. The famous Highland Clan Mackenzie owned The Dalmore for almost 100 years and they are still linked by the family symbol, the stag s head, which The Dalmore still uses to decorate its bottles today.
