A vintage 1989 28 year old GlenAllachie Speyside single malt Scotch whisky as a special release for the 50th anniversary of the Glenallachie distillery - for this special occasion, Master Distiller Billy Walker at GlenAllachie selected a sherry butt with cask no. 986 from the year 1989. The special GlenAllachie single malt Scotch whisky was matured in the cask for over 28 years and was bottled in a limited edition of just 428 individually hand-numbered bottles on 27 February 2018 without the addition of colourants and chill-filtration in cask strength at 57.7% vol.
The fine GlenAllachie Speyside Single Malt Scotch is part of a series of 6 sherry cask bottlings to mark the distillery's 50th anniversary and one of the first single malt whiskies since Billy Walker took over the distillery and can certainly already be described as a special collector's item.
