A very rare and stunning vintage 1963 48 year old Glenfarclas Scotch Whisky from the limited Family Cask series and special bottling from a selected 1st fill sherry hogshead, bottled as a limited edition release VIII in the year 2011. For this purpose, a selected sherry hogshead with the cask no. 179 was filled with distillate at Glenfarclas in the year 1963, the cask was allowed to mature for 48 years and was bottled on 14th October 2011 without the addition of dyes and chill filtration in an edition of only 194 bottles at cask strength 50.4% vol.
Since Glenfarclas now has almost no more casks from the 1960s in its old warehouse and there will therefore no longer be a supply of these particularly old and outstanding whiskies, the vintage 1960s Glenfarclas single cask bottlings are now among the exceptional specimens of whisky history and are sought-after rarities.
