A rare and stunning vintage 1973 41 years-old Glenglassaugh Highland single malt scotch whisky, distilled in the year 1973 and bottled after 41 years of maturation in a bourbon cask with a finish in a Massandra Sherry Puncheon in the Massandra Connection limited single cask series in April 2014.
The Massandra winery is considered the pearl of the Crimean peninsula and is still known for its excellent wines and Madeira. The winery was built in 1894 to supply wine and sparkling wine to the then Russian Tsar Nicholas II and his court.
This exceptional Glenglassaugh Highland single malt scotch whisky was specially hand-selected by Master Distiller Billy Walker for the Massandra Connection limited single cask bottling range and bottled in a limited edition of only 388 bottles without added dyes and chill filtration at cask strength 44.5% abv.
