A rare and pretty darn tasty vintage 1978 35 year old Glenglassaugh Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky, distilled in the year 1978 and matured for 35 years in bourbon casks with a finish in selected Massandra Madeira Puncheon casks bottled in the special Massandra Connection limited rare cask series on 7th April 2014.
The Massandra winery is considered the pearl of the Crimean peninsula and is still known for its excellent wines and Madeira. The winery was built in 1894 to supply wine and sparkling wine to the then Russian Tsar Nicholas II and his court.
This exceptional Glenglassaugh Highland single malt scotch whisky was specially hand-selected by Master Distiller Billy Walker for the Massandra Connection limited single cask bottling range and bottled in a limited edition of 1.320 bottles without added dyes and chill filtration at 41.7% abv.
