A rare vintage 1989 24 years-old Highland Park single malt scotch whisky, bottled by Càrn Mòr as part of a the very special Celebration of the Cask Black Gold limited single cask series. Distilled on 25th October 1989, it was aged in sherry hogshead with cask no. 3214 for over 24 years before only 258 handnumbered bottles were yielded on 31th March 2014 at cask strength 49.4% vol. If you couldn't already tell from the picture, it was matured in a Sherry hogshead, and what a cask it must have been! A rare example of long-aged sherried Highland Park and a outstanding scotch whisky!
Originally from the former Morrison Group - the former owner of Bowmore, Auchentoshan and Glengarioch - this independent bottler (Morrison and MacKay Whisky Merchants) is associated with the former Scottish Liqueur Centre, which they recently took over. In close cooperation with the Gillespie family, Càrn Mòr offers partially old casks from well-known but also lesser-known distilleries and offers a very high level of quality with its selected single cask bottlings. The collector's bottlings of the coveted single malts from the Celebration of the Cask Black Gold Single Cask range, which are only available in small quantities, have become an insider's tip and are rarely available.
