A vintage 1991 17 Years old Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey Batch No. 1 and the first edition of the Jefferson s legendary Presidential Collection from 2009 with 47.0% Vol, which was only available in the USA and only a few bottles have found their way to Europe to this day.
Jefferson s Presidential Select is an ultra-rare, premium bourbon, bottled from the last year in operation of Louisville s renowned Stitzel-Weller Distillery, owned by the Van Winkle Family. The Stitzel-Weller distillery is known for producing some of the world s best bourbon and rye whiskeys. In the winter of 1991, the distillery closed its doors, ending production of some of history s finest whiskeys. 17 years later, the producers of Jefferson s bourbons found several barrels of the Sitzel-Weller wheated bourbon. These found barrels represent the last remaining Stitzel-Weller bourbon.
A wheated bourbon from the old Stitzel-Weller distillery. A gentle, richly-textured whisky, loaded with fruit and spice. Black raspberry jam, caramel apple and papaya, along with warming cinnamon and subtle teaberry, on nutty toffee, nougat and creamy vanilla. Spicy, polished oak finish. Superbly balanced, sophisticated and very drinkable.
