A rare and exquisite 15 year old handmade Johnny Drum Private Stock Wax Sealed Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey at 50.5% vol / 101 proof and 75cl, produced in small batches in the early 2000s by Johnny Drum Distilling Company at Kentucky Bourbon Distillers in the Willett distillery in Bardstown, Kentucky and imported by Eaux De Vie, LTD in London.
As the Willett distillery only went back into operation in the year 2012 and until then Even Kulsveen's Kentucky Bourbon Distillers mainly bottled bourbon from the Old Bernheim, Stitzel Weller or Heaven Hill distilleries, this exclusive deep mahogany-coloured Johnny Drumm Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey still comes from times long past and the old stocks of the legendary distilleries. Thompson Willett developed Johnny Drum bourbon whiskey exclusively for a wholesaler in California in the 1960s and there is a legendary story behind the name of the Johnny Drum brand: according to legend, Johnny Drum served as a drummer boy during the American Civil War in 1861. After the war ended, legend has it that Johnny returned to his native Kentucky, where he settled by a beautiful spring. Johnny learned the importance of finding a way to profitably use his surplus maize crop instead of wasting it. As the story goes, it didn't take long for Johnny's determination to produce an exceptional bourbon whiskey.
