A very rare and magnificent vintage 1980 18 years-old Lagavulin Distillers Edition Islay single malt scocth whisky and the 2nd edition of the special release from the year 1999. This almost 19-year-old Islay single malt Whisky from the Classic Malts Selection by Islay legend Lagavulin was distilled in the year 1980 and was allowed to mature for up to 2 years in European Pedro Ximenez Sherry oak casks - these give the whisky more fruit such as raisins and dried fruit and a syrupy character. The great old Lagavulin Islay single malt scotch whisky was bottled in the year 1999 at 43.0% vol. and the batch number lgv.04/464 under the direction of Distiller Manager M. Nicolson.
Ingenious and complex, this exceptional malt delivers with elegance and style the special Lagavulin intensity of the old bottlings from the 70s and early 80s. With its beautiful mahogany colour, this special Islay single malt shows its complexity and maturity, combined with a rich nose of oranges, smoke, tobacco, wet wood, sea, sherry and and inviting smoke.
