A rare 1.0 litre bottlling of the vintage 1990 16 year old Lagavulin Double Matured Distillers Edition Special Release Islay Single Malt Scotch whisky from the year 2006. This terrific 16-year-old Lagavulin Islay Single Malt Scotch whisky from the Classic Malts selection by Islay legend Lagavulin was distilled in 1990, matured for many years in American oak Bourbon casks and up to 6 months in European Pedro Ximenez Sherry oak casks - these give the whisky more fruit such as sultanas and dried fruit and a syrupy character. The bottling took place in the year 2006 at 43.0% vol. and the batch number lgv.04/494 under the direction of distillery Manager Donald Renwick.

With its deep amber colour, this Lagavulin Islay single malt Scotch whisky shows its complexity and maturity, combined with a rich nose of cranberry, raspberry, peat, chocolate, leather, plum, liquorice and inviting smoke. Full-bodied, smooth and pleasant to drink, with notes of cherry, cranberry, peat, leather, chocolate, plum and toffee. The finish is complex and deep with chocolate, hazelnut paste, cherry, blackberry, pear and plum. The finish is long and smooth with lots of smoke and beautifully shows the unique character of Lagavulin.
