With the (Laphroaig) Kilbride Killer Vatted Islay Single Malt Scotch Wwhisky, the Regensburg Whisky Club and Pit Krause have succeeded once again, after the legendary (Ardbeg) The-Merry-Go-Round, the Crois Chill Daltain I+II and the (Bowmore) Sailing Seagull, an absolutely outstanding and very special Vatted Islay Single Malt Scotch whisky with the unique and multifaceted Laphroaig genes as part of the 14 Private Club releases in the year 2022 for the world s largest and most curious exhibition Walhala of Whisky in Regensburg in a limited edition at cask strength 52.6% vol.
The Kilbride Killer C.V. bottling consists of a composition of different vintages, mainly from the 1990s, the oldest vintage is probably from the 1960s and the vatting was matured again for several years in Oloroso sherry casks up to 50 years old.
The Kilbride Killer Islay single malt Scotch whisky, which is up to 40 years old in parts, needs some time in the glass to reveal its fantastic character; the nose is then soft and balanced with modern and juicy sherry notes, burnt caramel and tobacco, the flavour is extremely intense and medicinal with iodine, salt, cough syrup and medicinal herbs, smoke, phenols, fine old sherry, wet wood and leather, the finish is very long with fine iodine sweetness, dark chocolate and roasted coffee beans - an aromatic firework and real Islay single malt in the old style.
A special highlight for connoisseurs and enthusiasts and a great Islay single malt whisky that was not officially available on the market and, like many of the Regensburg Whisky and Wine Club bottlings, is already almost cult today - without doubt an exceptional whisky and wonderful old-school Islay single malt with a perfect balance and the quality of a Laphroaig with a strong character, which is already an absolute rarity today!
