A rare and fine vintage 2005 15 year old Long Pond VRW Pott Still Full Proof Pure Single Cask Jamaica Rum from the independent bottler Valinch and Mallet from The Spirit of Art Limited Single Cask Rum series best known among connoisseurs. This fine and exclusive Long Pond Full Proof Premium Single Cask Jamaica Rum was distilled in 2005, matured for 15 years in an oak cask with the cask no. 15, before it was bottled in the year 2020 without added sugar or colouring in a limited edition of only 325 individually numbered bottles at full proof 56.8% vol.
The exceptional Long Pond Full Proof Single Cask Pure Single Rum was distilled in the VRW pott still distillation process, received tropical aging for 13 years and continental aging for a further 2 years before it was bottled in 2020 by Valinch and Mallet with a specially designed artist s label by Mexican artist Oscar Isaias Contreras Rojas in a limited edition. Oscar Contreras Rojas was born in 1986 in Toluca, Mexico and lives and works between Florence and Venice. He graduated from the painting course at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice, Italy, and then completed a Master s degree in Fine Arts at Middlesex University in London, United Kingdom. He was a finalist in the prestigious Premio Cairo 2019 - Milan and Premio Combat 2020.
Founded in 1753, Long Pond Distillery is located in the Jamaican community of Trelawny, where Hampden Estate is also located. Its modern history begins in the 1940s, when Seagram boss Samuel Bronfman bought the distillery from the Jamaican government and started producing the Captain Morgan brand there. When Seagram was dissolved in the early 2000s, Diageo bought Captain Morgan and moved production to Clarendon. Long Pond became part of National Rum of Jamaica, a company founded in 1985 and currently owned by the Jamaican government, Demerara Distillers in Guyana and Maison Ferrand in France. Long Pond produces rum in both John Dore Pot Stills and a Blair Column Still. Its production is highly regarded, and stock shortages caused by the distillery s closure between 2012 and 2017 and a fire in 2018 mean that it is increasingly sought after.
This special Long Pond Single Cask Rum is a rare Vale Royal distillation from the year 2005 - Vale Royal is a style produced at Long Pond, named after the historic estate on whose rums the style is based.
