This early and first bottling of the 18 years Macallan Fine Oak Triple Cask Matured Single Malt is a special Highland single malt Scotch whisky that was matured for at least 18 years in a combination of selected European and American oak sherry casks and American oak bourbon casks.
The result is a full-bodied, elegant and smooth single malt of great complexity, which is a successful blend of the 3 different cask types and has its very own character. The 18 years Macallan Fine Oak Triple Cask Matured Highland Single Malt Scotch whisky has a subtle light amber colour and shows floral aromas on the nose, plums and figs, vanilla custard, a hint of wood smoke and on the palate it is silky smooth with apple, lime, orange, vanilla, nuts and sweet spices, the finish is medium long with fruit, nougat and a slightly dry note.
Although the Macallan Fine Oak Highland Single Malt Scotch whisky has always been overshadowed by the famous Macallan sherry oak Scotch whisky, it has many fans among whisky lovers and the early bottlings in the old design are particularly sought after today.
