An exceptional and outstanding vintage 1963 18 years old Macallan Sherry Wood Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky, which was bottled in the year 1981 as the first release of the limited Special Selection edition for the German importer Pro Nobilitate Ebert, Hainzl and Co. in Hamburg with 75cl which today undoubtedly is one of the very rare original bottlings of the Macallan-Glenlivet Ltd. from the early 1960s. Under the Special Selection range, Macallan bottled selected 17-18 year-old sherry-cask matured single malts with and without bottling dates between 1981 and 1984.
This special old style Highland single malt was bottled at 43.0% abv without the addition of dyes and chill filtration and is part of the series that gave Macallan its almost legendary reputation: the pure sherry cask bottlings. Today, the 18-year-old Sherry-Wood Macallan is one of the most famous and sought-after whiskies, enjoys a legendary reputation because of its excellent quality and can certainly be described as an icon among Scotch whiskies.
