This extremely rare vintage 1980 21 year old Macallan Highland Single Malt Scotch whisky comes from the Exceptional Single Cask Series by Macallan, which was produced in 6 editions between 1999 and 2004. In this special edition, absolutely exquisite single cask whiskies from selected Fino, Oloroso and Sherry Butt were bottled in a limited edition with an age of almost 14 to over 24 years.
The Macallan Exceptional Single Cask 3 Highland Single Malt Scotch whisky was was bottled with the special blue ribbon-label exclusively for the company S. Fassbind AG in Switzerland in a limited edition of only 858 bottles. The exquisite Macallan Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky was filled into a selected sherry butt with the cask no. 17937 on 20th November 1980, the nosing by whisky maker Bob Dolgamo took place on 26th March 2002, the transfer and filling into the interim storage on 20th April 2002 and the bottling took place after more than 21 years of maturation in warehouse no. 42 on 15th May 2002 without the addition of dyes and chill filtration at cask strength 51.0% vol. All the details of this exceptional whisky have been handwritten on the back label and signed by Bob Dolgamo.
