The successful combination of American oak casks, in which bourbon or sherry was previously stored, and European oak casks, in which sherry was matured, give the 25 years Macallan Fine Oak Highland Single Malt Scotch whisky floral aromas with apple and citrus notes and the sweetness of toffee with dried fruit and spice accents. The result is a particularly smooth and mellow Macallan Highland single malt with great complexity and a bright amber colour.
