The Macallan Edition No. 2 El Celler de Can Roca Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky is the second release of Macallan s special 2016 limited edition series and the result of the successful collaboration between Bob Dalgarno, Macallan s Master Whisky Maker and the three Roca brothers, who are part of the founding team of El Cellar de Can Roca restaurant (twice awarded best restaurant in the world).
The second bottling in the series focused on the importance of cask selection, it is a blend of seven different cask types and sizes, presented here in perfect success. The casks used come from Bodegas Vasyma, Diego Martin, Jose Miguel Martin and Tevasa and were selected and put together by The Macallan s Master Whisky Maker Bob Dalgarno, as well as the Roca brothers, who are co-founders of the restaurant El Celler de Can Roca. The distinctive character and dynamic of Macallan Edition No.2 El Celler de Can Roca Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky was shaped not only by the seven exceptional oak cask types from four different Spanish bodegas, but also by the creative influence of each of the four participants, who combined different flavours to infuse their own personality into the final product.
This exclusive Macallan Edition No. 2 Highland Single Malt Scotch whisky is very complex on the nose with treacle, ginger, toffee, apples, fruits, vanilla and subtle green wood, the flavour is warming with spices, crushed black pepper, cloves with chocolate, brown sugar, oak, nuts, liquorice and brandy and a warm, long finish.
The Macallan Edition No. 2 El Celler de Can Roca Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky was bottled in limited edition and without added colouring at 48.2% vol.
