The fine Macallan Edition No.4 Highland Single Malt Scotch whisky is the fourth release in Macallan s special 2018 limited edition series and was created by Master Whisky Maker Nick Savage of Macallan to mark the opening of the new Macallan distillery.
The fourth bottling in the Macallan Edition series, which focuses on the importance of cask selection, is a blend of seven different cask types and sizes, which are presented here in a wonderfully successful way. The exquisite handpicked oak casks come from the Spanish bodegas Tevasa, Vasyma, Diego Martin Rosado, Jose Y Miguel Martin and 1st and 2nd refill European and American butts, 2nd refill European and American hogsheads as well as 1st fill puncheons and were selected and compiled by The Macallan s Master Whisky Nick Savage. The distinctive character and elegance of Macallan Edition No. 4 Highland Single Malt Scotch whisky has been shaped not only by the seven exceptional oak cask types from 4 different Spanish bodegas, but also by the creative influence and craftsmanship of Nick Savage, who combined the different flavours to infuse his own personality into the exquisite Macallan Single Malt Scotch whisky.
Matured in a combination of European and American sherry oak casks, the Macallan Edition No.4 Highland Single Malt Scotch whisky is a truly successful single malt Scotch whisky. The excellent European oak sherry casks from Tevasa form the basis and provide rich notes of dried fruit, fine oak and ginger, while the American oak sherry casks from Vasyma provide structure and reveal vanilla and butterscotch. The composition is formed by 2nd fill sherry casks, which bring a bright, lively character with fine citrus fruits to this exquisite Macallan Highland Singe Malt.
The Macallan Edition No. 4 Highland Single Malt Scotch whisky was bottled in limited quantities and without the addition of colourants at 48.4% vol.
