The Macallan Gold Highland Single Malt Scotch whisky in the Masters of Photography Capsule Limited Edition with the elaborately designed artist s label and packaging by Ernie Button with the exclusive oak bottle stopper, which was bottled in the year 2016 in a limited edition without the addition of colourants at 40.0% vol. For this fine Macallan Highland single malt Scotch whisky, whisky maker Bob Dalgamo has selected the most interesting sherry oak casks from Jerez in Spain and created an exceptional single malt that has been awarded 89.5 points by Jim Murray for its quality.
The bottlings from the Macallan 1824 series are whiskies with no indication of maturity, named after their increasingly dark colour. The Macallan Gold Highland Single Malt Scotch whisky is a burnished gold in colour and presents lime and subtle citrus on the palate, then orange peel and an interwoven sweetness that softens but does not eliminate the spice. A soft vanilla note is followed by dark chocolate - stronger but not overpowering - with lingering floral and light oak notes. Citrus and candy dominate the palate, along with hints of ginger and cinnamon, while gentle oak tones reveal roasted apples. The finish is medium sweet, malty and slightly dry.
