An unquestionably excellent Highland single malt Scotch whisky with lush, bold, clear tones from aroma to finish. Macallan still used the rare ministrel barley variety Golden Promise at this time, which has been abandoned by other distilleries as it is considered too difficult and expensive to grow, but its rich natural oiliness allows the whisky to mature for a particularly long time.
