The two product categories The 1824 Series and The 1824 Collection should not be confused with each other. The former line stands for Macallan whisky with no indication of maturity, named after its increasingly dark colour. The latter comprises special single malt, which is actually reserved for the travel retail market.
The Macallan Rare Cask The 1824 Master Series Highland Single Malt Scotch whisky in elegant packaging seduces the senses with its special personality and colour and is an exquisite release from the Macallan 1824 Master series, created by Macallan whisky master Bob Dalgarno from Spanish first fill sherry oak casks. An exquisite expression in the Macallan range, the Macallan Rare Cask the 1824 Master Series Highland Single Malt Scotch whisky embodies the commitment to 100% natural colour from the first fill sherry oak casks from Jerez, Spain, in which this exceptional Macallan Highland Single Malt was matured.
For the rich mahogany red coloured Macallan Rare Cask Highland Single Malt Scotch whisky, only the very best casks from the Macallan warehouse were hand selected by whisky maker Bob Dalgarno and bottled in a luxuriously thick glass and packaged in a beautiful presentation case. Bob Dalgarno selected fewer than one percent of the casks maturing on the Macallan estate in order to craft this rare whisky.
The Macallan Rare Cask Highland Single Malt Scotch whisky shows in the nose an interplay between fruity notes of sultanas, oranges, apples and spicy oak tones with cinnamon, vanilla, nutmeg, cloves and some ginger, the taste is spicy with cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, vanilla, sweet fruity sultanas and dark chocolate, the finish is spicy with chocolate, vanilla and a hint of charcoal - a wonderful Macallan Highland Single Malt!
