A rare and legendary old bottling of the Midleton Very Rare 2000 Limited Edition Blended Irish Whiskey, which was bottled as the 17th release in the famous Midleton Very Rare series in the millennium year 2000 at 40.0% vol. in a limited edition. The world-renowned Midleton Very Rare is a blend of triple-distilled pot-still and grain whiskey that was allowed to mature exclusively in selected bourbon casks for between 12 and 25 years and is one of the most popular and collected Irish whiskeys today.
The stunning Midleton Very Rare was originally created by Barry Crockett, the Master Distiller of Jameson and has been bottled in very limited quantities every year since 1984 until today. When Barry Crockett retired in 2012, Irish Distillers released the highly acclaimed Barry Crockett Legacy whiskey in his honour. In 2013, Brian Nation took over as Master Distiller and continues the proud tradition of Midleton Very Rare to this day.
Each year, only a limited number of casks are used for the Midleton Very Rare Whiskey, about 50 or less, hence the addition of Very Rare! As the blend of the whiskey is changed every year and depends on the personal ideas of the Master Distiller, no two vintages are the same. Each bottle is individually numbered and bears the signature of the Master Distiller.
